Backgound :

Access to international resources is increasing and improving, taking into account the consideration of RE by the countries in their energy policy and the gradually marked interest of financial institutions for the development of this new area in the world and in Africa in particular. The opportunities offered by different funds and the existing mechanisms should be utilized.

The Africa Renewable Energy Initiative (AREI) is organizing a meeting of knowledge and experience sharing platform on “Financing Mechanisms for Renewable Energy projects in Africa”. The main objective of the meeting is to strengthen the capacities of the AREI countries focal points and renewable energy stakeholders across the continent on the existing traditional financing mechanisms as well as the innovative ones elsewhere that could support effective involvement of private sector mainly local private sector.
